We do not collect data
MuYi has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no third-party trackers. The developer does not receive any of your data.
Videos and subtitles
Video files, recognition results and translations are processed only on your Mac and are not uploaded. Cached subtitles are stored in the app's data folder on your Mac. Deleting the app or its data removes them.
Speech recognition
Chinese and English use Apple's speech recognition on your Mac. Japanese is recognized on your Mac by the Kotoba-Whisper model included with the app, and Apple's speech engine double-checks numbers and wording. For all three languages, macOS may download speech resources the first time you use them. This is managed by macOS and subject to Apple's terms.
Translation
By default, translation uses the Index-Translate 2B or Hy-MT2 1.8B model included with the app, running in a private process inside the app. It opens no network port and makes no network connection.
Optional external translation API
You can set up your own OpenAI-compatible translation API. When enabled, the subtitle text to be translated is sent to the server you specify and is handled under that provider's own policies. The developer cannot access it. Your API key is stored in the macOS Keychain and is never sent to the developer. This feature is off by default, and you can turn it off or remove it in Settings at any time.
Children
MuYi does not collect data from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, this page and its effective date will be updated.

幕译没有账号体系，没有统计分析，没有广告，也不包含第三方追踪。开发者不会收到你的任何数据。
视频与字幕
视频文件、识别结果和翻译结果只在你的 Mac 上处理，不会上传。字幕缓存保存在本机应用数据目录中，删除应用或其数据即可清除。
语音识别
中文和英语使用 Apple 系统语音识别；日语使用应用内置的 Kotoba-Whisper 模型在本机识别，并用 Apple 系统语音引擎复核数字和用词。三种语言首次使用时，系统都可能下载语音资源，这由 macOS 管理，适用 Apple 的相关条款。
翻译
默认使用内置的 Index-Translate 2B 或 Hy-MT2 1.8B 模型，在应用内私有进程中运行，不开放网络端口，不联网。
可选的外部翻译 API
你可以自行配置 OpenAI 兼容的翻译接口。启用后，待翻译的字幕文本会发送到你指定的服务器，由该服务商按其政策处理，开发者无法访问。API 密钥保存在 macOS 钥匙串中，不会发给开发者。此功能默认关闭，可随时在设置中关闭或删除。
儿童
幕译不收集任何人的数据，包括儿童的数据。

如政策变更，会在本页更新并修改生效日期。
